Knowing God as Father is the wonderful privilege of those who believe in Him whom He has sent, Jesus Christ. Those who believe on his name have received the right to be children of God. (John 1:12). They benefit and are responsable for the benefits associated with this relationship.
Here are a few elements that pertain to this relationship:
Relationship with the Father
– Because we are his children through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26), God has sent into our hearts the Spirit of His Son by which we cry Abba, Father(Galatians 4:6). And his Spirit guides us (Romans 8:14-15).
The Father's will
– Believers are given to Jesus by the will of the Father Who wants them to have eternal life. (John 6:39-40).
The Father's hand
– Jesus is the Shepherd of those He redeemed; they are His for eternity. None can pluck them out of my Father's hand says He! (John 10:29).
The Father's house
– The Father's desire is that his children dwell in his house in heaven. (John 14:1-3). That is our destination.
The Father's care
– We can fully confide in the Father's care as Jesus said : your Father knows what things ye have need of (Matthew 6:8).
The Father's love
– Those that believe in Jesus are loved of the Father (John 16:26), with the same love wherewith He loves His Son (John 17:23).
The Father's discipline
– By trials and varied circumstances, the Father educates us in order for our lives to produce that which is pleasing to Him (John 15;1-2).
The Father's ear
– The Father hears and answers the feeblest request his child lifts up to Him (John 16:23).
The Father's worship...
– ...belongs to his children who can worship Him in spirit and in truth because of the revelation He has given of His Son and of His love in having delivered Him up for us (Romans 8:32).
